No word on when its really coming except for 2013 debut, and I’m not sure if it’s supposed to look like a Maserati. But overall, this is a 21st century RX-7, but with a twist… hybrid tech from Toyota. Thankfully, the hybrid unit will only be used as a power-booster and range extender, not actually the engine.

That’s about all the info I can share on that car. But I’m much more interested in yet another Mazda concept…

MX-5 Miata

The MX-5 has grown much bulkier and heavier in recent years because they had to put it on the RX-8 platform. Soon Mazda will be downsizing the roadster back to its 1989 origins… seriously. And they are planning to keep the weight under 2200 lbs- 200 lbs lighter than it currently is. The concept will be revealed in December 2011 at the Tokyo Motor Show.

So now I proceed to a different website to see the specs side by side. But somewhere in the corner of my I see competitors: Nissan Z. And now I am even more puzzled, because it’s the SAME price as the RX-8, but has a 100 hp advantage, at 330hp. Wtf?! Also another thing- the RX-8 has a 1.3 liter engine while the other 2 have nearly 4 liters. Even my dad’s 1996 civic has a bigger engine than that, but it only does 100 hp.

So you must be thinking “Oh Cool a supercharger!”… But there actually isn’t one, or a turbocharger for that matter.

I’m officially confused. Just stay away from the RX-8 I guess… Somebody PLEASE explain why there isn’t a 300hp version at $30,000, like the other 2.

Take a good look, this car is going into production in a year or two.

Toyota’s modern sports car! Its about time Toyota makes a new sports car, because they extinguished the awesome Celicas, Supras, and MR2′s from the 90′s. And we are lucky this one isn’t going to be a hybrid. They could have made it a sport hybrid, a Honda CR-Z challenger. Thankfully, thats not the case. So what car will it actually be competing against?Here are the specs: Rumors are pricing will be in the low $20,000′s, and it will house an engine not made by Toyota, but by Subaru. The engine will be a 4 cylinder, (crap!) around 200 horsepower Subaru boxer engine. Also the car will be the classic RWD drivetrain.

So from here on, it looks like this will be an alternative to one of the most recognized Japanese sports car, Nissan’s 370Z, right? Well, no. Problem is, that has 332 hp and will be way faster than this Toyota newcomer hopes to be. Also more expensive.  So is the FT-86 the only one in it’s class?

Nope. We have one current car with similar hp, size, drivetrain and price. Have you noticed it looks VERY similar to the Hyundai Genesis Coupe? (210 hp, RWD, $22,000)

There are also other American options with RWD in the same price range of 20,000-25,000, like the Camaro with 300 hp. The thing is that also weighs a 1000 lbs more than the Japanese cars. Same story with the Mustang. Yes, I realize other cars have the same price and hp amount, but they are not RWD like both of these cars. So what’s your pick?

This will be an epic car battle for next year, 2012.

I may or may not be keeping up with my blog, but probably during spring for spring cleaning because that’s when I overcome laziness.

In this age, we are all dreaming up new ways to modernize and do away with the old. Convenience, efficiency and time are of the essence today, and students of all ages are missing out. So what’s the problem? It would be the aging, huge, slow, rusty and funny smelling school buses. No one has the patience to wait in the treacherous chill of the morning for the bus to pick them up and go through a maze of slow motion bus stops everyday to simply get to school. -Hold on- you don’t want to walk either. Walking is the biggest time wasting, boring and, sometimes, toughest of transportation methods when it’s raining cats and dogs. No, don’t take the car either. The morning traffic is like the slowest internet you have ever encountered- you sit there, wait, and grow angry at the buzzing line of cars before you.  This isn’t how you want to spend your morning. Clearly, students need much better ways to get to school than traditional, inefficient methods.

First you must locate your pantry. A likely place is the kitchen, but if it isn’t there then dial the number 9, 1, 1 on your telephone for help. You might be wondering, “What might I use my pantry for?” The answer varies from person to person, but most like to store things. Some ideas for storage are potted plants, jewelry, or perhaps an extensive variety of mustard.

Before you get too comfortable with your pantry, you must NOT do the following things:

• Have sleepovers in your pantry
• Invite friends to your pantry
• Install a lock on the door
• Store gasoline and matches at the same time

Now you know how to use a pantry.

I went to school this morning. There was NO WAY I was going to the bus stop, because it was pouring, thundering and there was lightning. I took the car to school. On our way there, traffic was backing up and we ended up inching forward. Soon we realized that there was a large body of water that some cars couldn’t cross. We turned around and took route #2.  Traffic was worse there, and it came to the point where the police and fire department passed by.  I got to school after 15-20 minutes.  It looked like the picture below, but a darker sky and heavy rain.

Later, I heard that the media center roof caved in. There were leaks in every hallway. We were dismissed from school early due to the weather.

P.S.- It would be better if I had a camera like CPMAN.

As you can see, I need more roller coasters.
